Phase SI have carried out several ground penetrating radar (GPR) and utility tracing surveys at airports in recent months. Helping our clients avoid strikes to buried services, although we can’t unfortunately help passengers with strikes by cabin crew!
We carried out two stages of work involving GPR surveys alongside a runway to help our client detect buried services and other obstructions in advance of the installation of a new cabling route. This work was carried out during night shifts and over 6 km of the new cable route was surveyed during the two stages of work.
Phase were also involved in carrying out a radio frequency location (RFL) and GPR survey to locate buried services at the proposed site of a new control tower, and also along part of the route of a new high voltage (HV) cable. In both cases we successfully located a combination of metallic and non-metallic apparatus.
